Artslam 8 year anniversary!

Come celebrate 8 amazing years of ARTSLAM with us!

Come celebrate 8 amazing years of ARTSLAM! with us! We will be throwing the slam of slams on January 25th at the White Rabbit!

We would not be here if it wasn’t for your continued support all these years. With your help we have changed the art scene here in SA and we will continue to do so for many years to come! This year we will have FIVE special guest artists:

Skinner is a self-taught artist living in Oakland, California who has meticulously crafted a balance of extraordinary mural work, bizarre and antagonistic installations while maintaining a prolific commercial career. Influenced by 80’s pop culture, human struggle, myths and violence, dungeons and dragons and the heavy metal gods, Skinner’s mind is one of psycho social mayhem fueled by a calculated chaos. His work has been shown all over the world in various museums, universities and galleries. He has been an ambassador of the alternative arts movement in countries ranging from Russia, Cuba, Japan, Europe and all across the United States.

Aaron “WOES” Martin

Aaron Martin, also known as Angry Woebots, had his first show in 2002 and has not stopped since. Showing in galleries up and down the West and East coast, as well as beyond the American borders to Tokyo,Hong Kong, Australia, Thailand and New Zealand. Best known for his paintings of pandas, Martin has worked with companies and crews like Mind Style toys, Disney, Blue Scholars, Kidrobot, Fitted Hawaii, NewEra, Kicks Hawaii, and Converse. He has also been published in magazines in the US and Europe. His focal medium is acrylic paintings on wood and canvas. Using minimal colors and detailed character designs, these paintings are usually comprised of stressed out and emotional pandas. The pandas tend to represent the story of mankind’s struggle with both himself and his environment.

Ernest Doty

Prolific and passionate street artist Ernest Doty equates justice and vision in his pursuit for more wall space. At once a mystic and a social activist, Ernest seems to want to drag the rest of the contemporary world into an age of neo-enlightenment, kicking and screaming. His ancient characters, with their multiple. sad eyes have a message for us: their message is silence, compassion and social justice.

His work–an undeniably captivating blend of various techniques and genres–haunts viewers with masterful interpretations of raw emotion.
